Dr. Deena Hawasli
Board Eligible Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Deena has a sixth sense for silliness and a superpower for making kids feel right at home. With her gentle hands and big-hearted care, she turns checkups into chuckles and cleanings into confidence. Whether she’s singing along to Encanto or sneaking in a science fact, Dr. Deena brings sparkle, smarts, and soul to every smile she serves.
Dr. Hawasli was born and raised in Detroit, MI. As a Michigan native, she attended the University of Detroit Mercy for her undergraduate studies and received her doctorate degree at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry (Go Blue!). For her record of excellence in patient-centered care and education, she became the recipient of numerous scholarships while at the University of Michigan (You can say she's a bit of a nerd). Soon after graduating, she relocated to the sunshine state and has been practicing in the Southwest Florida area for the past 4 years serving the pediatric community. Since working in the local community, she has quickly created a bond and friendship with her patients that is centered on trust and compassion.
Dr. Hawasli’s passions include providing access to dental care for the underserved community. This is reflected in her experience in creating a partnership between the University of Michigan and HUDA Dental Clinic in Detroit, MI in which students provided free services for patients with limited access to dental care. In addition, she volunteered in multiple Give Kids A Smile events to provide dental services to kids from disadvantaged backgrounds. Her participation in these programs further exemplifies her passion for community care, working with children, and providing patients with a positive experience that will last their dental lifetime (We think she's pretty awesome!).
When Dr. Hawasli is not in the office, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, trying new restaurants, and taking long walks. Her personal interests also include staying active by engaging in indoor cycling, yoga, and pilates. In addition, she enjoys expanding her creative talents by drawing, painting, and writing poetry. An interesting fact about Dr. Hawasli is she raised two pet turtles in her childhood (Ham and Cheese). This inspired her to consider a field in Marine Biology prior to pursuing her passion for dentistry. She is now a mama to Chester! Her cute and energetic dwarf hamster. As a pediatric dental provider, Dr. Hawasli strives to continue her initiative in serving the local community and further fostering a comfortable, positive dental environment.
